WHAT’S NEXT FOR MOLLOY’S ON THE GREEN?

The answer to that will unfold over the next few months.  The 70-year old building is being listed on the real estate market for lease.  Originally constructed in 1953, the building was known as the Greenhills Country Club and was owned by FIENCO, Inc – previously known as the Greenhills Home Owner Corporation.  Then in 1977, FIENCO sold it to the City of Greenhills.  A restaurant – John L. Sullivan’s – operated in the building for a number of years. It was then leased by another entity that operated it as a restaurant/banquet hall combination.  When that facility closed, it became strictly a banquet facility.  Over time there were 2 different operators, but both of whom ran it under the name of Molloy’s on the Green.

Then came the pandemic. With the government’s lockdown of non-essential businesses, COVID all but killed the banquet and wedding business. Unfortunately, Molloy’s will close this April.

Residents have indicated a desire to have a gathering place for food and drink. For that type of establishment to succeed it will have to draw from a much larger area than just Greenhills.  To ensure the availability of the building receives maximum exposure in the market, it has been listed for lease.

We are excited about the possibilities!  Check back for updates as the story unfolds.
