Ohio BWC Safety Grant
MCFD is pleased to have been awarded an Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation Safety Intervention Grant to purchase a new, commercial washer/extractor to clean firefighter PPE. The equipment will more-effectively remove carcinogenic substances that contaminate protective clothing while fighting fires. This is a matching grant and MCFD will contribute a one-fourth share of the $16,511.10 project.
MCFD and the Ohio BWC have collaborated on several projects in recent years to improve safety for Milford’s firefighters. EMT’s and paramedics. Power-assisted ambulance stretchers, firefighting PPE, consultation to improve workplace safety policies, and now this important equipment all promote a healthier, MCFD workplace.
